Clena Wilhannah Jones
    born July 22, 1919 Kansas City, Mo
She died  Jan 1, 2023,  Funeral planned for 22 July 2023 in Shawnee.  She was 103 years old.

Married Charles Francis Wilson,  May 12, 1946 in Shawnee, Kansas, in the living room
of the house her grandfather Jones built, the house she lived in most of her life.

Graduated Shawnee Mission Rural (north) High School 1937.
And the Kansas City Business College.

Clena was the organist for the Shawnee United Methodist Church for 33 years. 
and only stopped playing  when she fell at a wedding practice and broke her shoulder, she never
regained enough motion in her arm to reach up and turn the music pages. So she retired

She worked for the Gas Service Co. in Merriam, Kansas and was a teller at the
Mission State Bank in Mission, Kansas during WW2. 
 
She was Assistant City Clerk for the City of Shawnee for l5 years. (1962 - 1975) back 
when Shawnee was a small town.  

She is a member of the DAR. That means she is directly related to a person that
fought in the Revolutionary war.  

She had a twin brother ( Wilson Fremont Jones, jr) , Her Mother died of complications for
giving birth.  She was raised in Shawnee by her grandparents   John Wilson Jones, and Jenny Jones (Hart)

In 103 years she had done so many things that even if I knew most of them  I wouldn't have room to list everyone. !!!
Part of the greatest generation, she lived through the depression, WW2, and many more wars.
when she was born, woman couldn't yet  vote, there was NO Radio or TV, Indoor plumbing was a relatively new idea in Shawnee, as was electric lights.
There were no refrigerators  only ice boxes, 

She was so very proud of Shawnee, and Kansas..  She was a little Kansas Sunflower.
